Finally the day of the summer holiday has arrived! A time for sun, beach and hanging out with the gang.
OR…
Freelance work, updating the portfolio and hunting for Internships which is pretty much what I’m gonna spend my summer with.
The last days of the Hyper Island Recruitment process
were very tough but we pulled through and I am pretty satisfied with the outcome of it! Learned a ton about recruitment processes and also got a better insight about Hyper Island operates and works!
To talk a little bit about the freelance works
I can say that I recently delivered one job for >>Yoo.se!
I did an augmented reality landing page for them were the user can use the Yoo.se business card to get access to the navigation to the site. For an example print the symbol below and visit >>3d.yoo.se! You will need a webcam to get the point of the site.
The new job that I started working with yesterday is to update the photographer Daniel Blom’s portfolio! Really nice guy and a very skilled photographer! While you´re waiting for me to update his site, check it out now, he got some awesome work put up. >>Daniel Blom
The second day of recruitment processing is over and the first batch of applicants have done their best to prove themselves, and also found out if the Hyper Island experience is something that is right for them.
After todays tasks and tests I can say that it will be even harder than I could imagine to pick out the ones that will form the new class, I can’t decide! And tomorrow the new batch will arrive! Dang this is hard!
Today was the first day doing some extra work at Hyper Island after finishing the semester last week! I’m part of an interview team, interviewing the recruits for the upcoming classes of Digital Media 11 and Interactive Art Director 10!
The process stretches over the whole week and we are interviewing and testing all the potential students. It sure is a though task to do, but I’m learning a whole lot about what to look for when recruiting new co-workers. This will be a good experience to have with me in future situations, like when I’m gonna be hiring new staff and such!
All the recruits are divided into two batches that are doing two days of tests each.

Gah… I’m exhausted and are still not home because I’ve been borrowing Peters laundry-room while the carpenters are redoing the bathroom at home.
28 minutes to iphone 3.0!!! In the meantime check out ‘Layar’, an awesome terminatorstyle AR-app for mobile devices, apparently on it’s way for iphone to!
During The Industry Project I have had the role of project manager. Today I made the first of my two client presentations.
The client was Opalescence.se, a provider of teeth bleaching and profylax products for dental care, and they asked us to update their webshop with some functionality and to come up with some new ways for them to offer their clients a better service.
We ended up redesigning the entire site, update their payment methods and implementing a new function that enables the user to find the closest certified dentalcare to do opalescence bleaching.
The client really liked our job and decided to start to use the new site immediately! To see the result, visit the site at www.opalescence.se
Tomorrow is the big one though, SJ! We are currently sitting in school and is cutting the last bits of the concept movie. Starting to get a little nervous! But I’m sure we’ll do a good job on the presentation, hope they like the result though!
